Good and cozy restaurant with a nice ambience. Adequate hygiene standards. Personally, there was enough air exchange through the high glass roof. The char is highly recommended, the warm starter plate with vegetables was a bit oily. Price / performance ratio about 3 stars.

The ambience was very nice and cozy. Everything was very clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and courteous as well as attentive. Unfortunately we found that the price / performance ratio was not right. The food was unfortunately not a hit. We were three people and each of us received his meal individually with an interval of three minutes. The chicken breast was dry, the fried potatoes weren't really fried potatoes. Unfortunately the crust was missing here. In my opinion, even a dumpling as a side dish for an adult and hungry man is a little little. But of course everyone is different here. The ox cheeks were not parried. We went for lunch, maybe it's different in the evening.

As expected, an incredibly beautiful beer garden / winter garden! Make a reservation online in advance, it is very busy here. In spite of all this, the food was super quick and the service was great. The portions are more than filling. Good Franconian cuisine. We will be back definitely!

The best Schäufele and the best char fillet !!! We often ate both in Ba-Wü and Franconia, and they were more expensive than here, but the taste of the Hinterhöfle really surprised us. My husband is finally getting his Schäufele as crispy (fat) and tender (fillet) as he loves it. To be honest, I find fish in Germany very boring in taste and many restaurants overlay this bland taste with a lot of garlic and / or olive oil, but here I ate really good fish today, well seasoned but not too much and not too little, so that Fish taste was retained. We'll be back even if we live about 115 km away. We also have to mention the beer garden. Almost Mediterranean flair. Service great.

Our first day of vacation on Friday took us in the backyard where we both shovel ordered. The food was very good, but as soon as it was served, a huge number of flies and a few wasps pounced on our food, so that we could hardly find peace to eat the Schaeufele. Switching to another table didn't help either and the (very friendly) wait staff said that the plague of flies was because we had ordered the best food with the Schaeufele. That could hardly comfort us, so that we will remember the restaurant as rather disappointing.

Bad food, rude service! The aggressively advertised 23 ° C guarantee in the courtyard was definitely not given at our place, as one of the radiant heaters was probably defective. In return, there was mediocre food, partly charred fried potatoes and a bad-tempered, abusive waitress who, when asked about the missing dessert, said that no one wanted to bring it out. During the meal, garbage bags were carried through the restaurant behind us several times. Service and comfort are different, as we were lucky enough to find a few corners away the next evening. Volkach has better addresses!

A cozy ambience in the backyard. To find something hidden through a courtyard entrance. Lots of space, good price-performance ratio, nice conditions. Definitely recommended, even when it's colder.

A very pleasant lunch with the family. Food was delicious and the service was always friendly. Despite the "full house" we were satisfied and satisfied in one hour. Thanks again to the whole team!

Landed there by chance ... a positive stroke of luck. Were looking for a good espresso after visiting Volkach. Have landed there and would have struck there if we hadn't filled our satchels beforehand in Sommerach. We stuck to coffee and wine, the look in the menu encouraged us to come back soon. Absolutely nice, friendly and courteous service staff (although only espresso and wine drunk). The food on the neighboring tables looked excellent. Ambience and furnishings are very modern and yet rural. Tastefully decorated. Sat outside covered (glass roof, they call it basilica). We'll be back soon, this time with more stomach space :-)

We ate very delicious there and the wine was delicious too. The shovel was really very good! One point deduction for the very crowded restaurant and the very short, if friendly service. It's a little more lively there. If you like that, it is really a great restaurant with a wide range that has something for everyone.

Very nice restaurant in the heart of Volkach. The food is good, but the quality has declined compared to the last few years. The service was "only" good, unfortunately our food didn't come at the same time. Still recommended and we had a nice evening.

Even now in winter a visit is very pleasant. The surprise and heating attract many guests to the restaurant. The food is very tasty. The operator has an overview even when the house is full and does not appear stressed. Nowadays this is no longer independent. A visit is worthwhile in every season.

Cosy restaurant located in the roofed backyard of a traditional German house in the center of Volkach. It serves various different kinds of (mainly) Franconian food, including seasonal dishes. Many of the juices, wines, and beers are also regional. Since it is usually fully booked, you need to make a reservation.

Very nice covered beer garden in the middle of Volkach. Service and food were delicious. We recommend. A star deduction, because it took a very long time until the food came.

Located in an inside court, you can eat outside or inside the winter garden. Typical regional food and extended local wine choice. Tidy toilets.
